Slack

  • Usage: Upon joining, you will receive invitations to specific GCRI Slack channels related to your areas of responsibility. This tool supports real-time messaging, file sharing, and seamless integration with other work tools, enhancing our collaborative efforts.

Microsoft 365

  • Purpose: Microsoft 365 is integral to our project management and collaborative efforts. It includes tools like Microsoft Teams for video conferencing, SharePoint for document storage and management, and Planner for task organization.
  • Usage: You will have comprehensive access to Microsoft 365, allowing you to coordinate meetings, collaborate on documents, manage projects, and synchronize activities via an integrated calendar on Teams. This ensures all formal communications and collaborative efforts are centralized and accessible to all team members.

Nexus Platform (GCRI Websites)

  • Purpose: The Nexus Platform acts as the primary digital gateway for GCRI’s external engagement, hosting essential information, updates, and resources.
  • Usage: Board members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the platform to gain insights into GCRI’s public engagements and ongoing projects. This knowledge is crucial for informed decision-making and effective external representation.

Quarterly Strategic Sessions and Beyond

Voluntary Participation Forms

  • Purpose: To structure and document the voluntary engagement of board members in activities extending beyond their primary duties.
  • Process: Board members wishing to contribute further can complete a Voluntary Participation Form via Microsoft Forms. This form is essential for joining specialized committees and advisory councils, requiring members to detail their involvement and time commitments.
  • Importance: This procedure ensures all voluntary activities align with GCRI’s strategic goals and adhere to global standards for nonprofit volunteering, facilitating effective resource allocation and strategic alignment.

Navigating Roles

They drive the research, development, and policy recommendations in their respective fields. Process for Joining Governance Committees or Technical Councils

To join these groups, you must complete the Voluntary Participation Form, available on Microsoft Forms. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Choose Your Path: Select whether you wish to join Governance Committees or Technical Councils based on your expertise and interests.
  • Specify Involvement: Detail the nature of your involvement and the specific committees or councils you are interested in joining.
  • Confirm Time Commitment: Indicate your availability beyond the basic annual commitment, ensuring you can meet the additional responsibilities.

Automatic Integration into the Global Stewardship Board (GSB)

If you opt to chair any committee or council, you automatically become a member of the Global Stewardship Board (GSB). The GSB conducts quarterly global sessions that are critical for synchronizing strategic initiatives across GCRI’s various platforms. As a chair, you will provide essential leadership in these sessions, helping to align and integrate strategies across all levels of the organization.
