Context and Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Today\u2019s global risk-governance architecture was not built for compounding climate, systemic, technological, and socio-political shocks. Governance is often:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Fragmented across institutions, mandates, and sectors<\/li>\n
  • Weak on accountability, with limited follow-through on commitments<\/li>\n
  • Disconnected from evidence, capital, and operational constraints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Global Risks Forum (GRF)<\/strong> is being established as the Nexus Ecosystem\u2019s multilateral governance and assurance institution<\/strong>. Its purpose is to build and steward the governance rail<\/strong> for modern risk management\u2014Council Registers, scorecards, standards, and structured dialogues that make clear who is responsible for what, on what timelines, and under which rules<\/strong>. The Founding Council<\/strong> is GRF\u2019s primary political, regulatory, and institutional leadership community<\/strong>. It defines the ambition, guardrails, and partnerships that will anchor a new era of risk governance and cooperative accountability<\/strong>. The Board<\/strong> will be drawn from, and accountable to, this Council. As a Founding Council Member<\/strong>, you will help set the constitutional, diplomatic, and institutional foundation<\/strong> for GRF.<\/p>\n

    GRF part of nexus ecosystem works with GCRI proudly holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is a Civil Society Organization (CSO) member of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As a key player in global governance and risk reduction, GCRI actively participates in the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage and collaborates with National Working Groups (NWGs) in over 120 countries.<\/p>\n

    Role Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Shape GRF\u2019s mission, governance agenda, and standards strategy<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Define and uphold standards of legitimacy, independence, and public-interest alignment<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Anchor a global coalition<\/strong> of states, regulators, markets, infrastructure operators, academia, and civil society committed to serious risk governance<\/li>\n
    • Guide what GRF focuses on and how it works<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Help design platforms, procedures, and norms<\/strong> that will outlast them<\/li>\n
    • Act as connectors<\/strong> between GRF and key public authorities, market rule-setters, and societal stakeholders<\/li>\n
    • Council Members in good standing may later be nominated or elected to the GRF Board<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      As a Founding Council Member of GRF, you will focus on:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Mission and priorities:<\/strong> Co-shaping GRF\u2019s mission and initial 3\u20135 year governance agenda across climate, systemic financial, infrastructure, and technology risks.<\/li>\n
      • Registers and scorecards:<\/strong> Helping define the practical design of the Council Register<\/strong> (who is responsible for what) and scorecards<\/strong> (how progress is tracked and surfaced).<\/li>\n
      • Standards and assurance:<\/strong> Guiding the creation of concise, usable standards and assurance profiles that align GCRI evidence<\/strong>, GRA programs<\/strong>, and NSF protocol rules<\/strong> into a coherent governance baseline.<\/li>\n
      • Dialogue and simulations:<\/strong> Shaping high-value dialogues and simulations where states, markets, and communities can test policies and instruments before crises and agree on clear follow-up actions.<\/li>\n
      • Institutional interfaces:<\/strong> Advising how GRF should interact with existing multilateral, regional, and national institutions so work is additive, not duplicative.<\/li>\n
      • Access and convening:<\/strong> Opening doors to key governments, regulators, MDBs, standard-setters, industry bodies, and civil-society actors who should sit in GRF\u2019s councils and platforms.<\/li>\n
      • Governance culture:<\/strong> Reinforcing expectations of transparency, independence, balanced representation, and accountability across GRF\u2019s processes.<\/li>\n
      • Participation and membership growth:<\/strong> Joining as a paid Founding Council Member<\/strong>, actively participating in Council work, and encouraging high-caliber peers and institutions to join GRF in appropriate membership streams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Candidate Profile<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        We are seeking frontier leaders in governance, regulation, and system stewardship<\/strong>, typically with 15+ years<\/strong> in one or more of:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Government and public finance<\/strong> \u2013 ministers or senior officials in finance, planning, environment, resilience, interior, or equivalent portfolios.<\/li>\n
        • Central banking, supervision, and regulation<\/strong> \u2013 senior roles in central banks, supervisory authorities, or sector regulators.<\/li>\n
        • Multilateral and regional institutions<\/strong> \u2013 leadership roles in MDBs, UN entities, regional organizations, or standard-setting bodies focused on risk, resilience, or systemic stability.<\/li>\n
        • Critical infrastructure and system stewardship<\/strong> \u2013 senior roles in utilities, networks, platforms, or industry bodies with system-wide responsibilities.<\/li>\n
        • Civil society, academia, and knowledge institutions<\/strong> \u2013 leaders who have shaped norms, standards, or institutions in risk governance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          You should have a demonstrable track record of building or transforming institutions, coalitions, or governance frameworks<\/strong>, not only operating within them.<\/p>\n

          Capabilities and Mindset<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Strategic and systems thinker<\/strong>, linking law, policy, regulation, evidence, capital, and operations.<\/li>\n
          • Institution and governance-framework builder<\/strong>, interested in designing registers, standards, scorecards, and procedures that multiple institutions will follow.<\/li>\n
          • High-integrity public-interest orientation<\/strong>, able to hold a clear societal mandate amid complex interests.<\/li>\n
          • Cross-domain convener<\/strong>, able to bring together ministers, regulators, CEOs, community leaders, and experts and move from discussion to agreed rules and commitments.<\/li>\n
          • Long-term perspective<\/strong>, seeing GRF as a multi-year effort to re-architect global risk governance and cooperative accountability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Eligibility, Membership, and Independence<\/strong><\/p>\n

            • Holds a full-time primary role<\/strong> and can commit sustained Council-level time.<\/li>\n
            • Commits to join as a paid Founding Council Member<\/strong> and to remain in good standing<\/strong> (dues, engagement, disclosures).<\/li>\n
            • Meets integrity, independence, and professional standards<\/strong> consistent with the GRF Charter & Bylaws.<\/li>\n
            • Willing to fully disclose relevant interests<\/strong> and abide by conflict-of-interest, ethics, and recusal policies.<\/li>\n
