Subjects to be commissioned.

18 slots in the programme left their subject to be set at commissioning. Each has a proposed subject from the programme’s own registry, and each can be changed. Propose a subject, or send evidence for a proposed one.

Open slots and their proposed subjects.

A proposed subject is not a finding and not a commitment. The desk that owns the slot confirms, changes or replaces it at commissioning.

SlotProposed subjectWhyState
C-01AfricaReads the African country subjects (ZAF, KEN, SEN) and the African Union side by side: shared river basins, power pools and food markets the country editions each see only in part.Proposed
C-02EuropeReads the European country subjects and the European Union together: the single energy and food markets, shared rivers and the common climate and nature rules.Proposed
C-03EurasiaReads Türkiye and the Russian Federation as a corridor region: gas, grain and fertiliser routes and the Black Sea straits that couple them to Europe, MENA and Asia.Proposed
C-04MENAReads Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as the most water-scarce region in the programme, where desalination ties water to energy and food is mostly imported.Proposed
C-05ASEANReads Indonesia and Singapore with the ASEAN frame: shipping chokepoints, a regional power grid in planning and shared haze, fisheries and mangrove systems.Proposed
C-06East AsiaReads China, Japan and the Republic of Korea together: the manufacturing and semiconductor chains, imported energy and food, and shared air and sea.Proposed
C-07South AsiaReads India with the region it shares the Indus, Ganges and Brahmaputra basins, the monsoon and the heat-health exposure with.Proposed
C-08Oceania-PacificReads Australia with the Pacific island states: sea-level and cyclone exposure, ocean commons and the region’s distance from supply chains.Proposed
C-09North AmericaReads Canada, the United States and Mexico as one integrated grid, water-sharing and food-trade system under one trade agreement.Proposed
C-10South AmericaReads Brazil and Argentina with the Amazon and Paraná basins, hydropower and the food exports that couple the region to world markets.Proposed
SR-02Critical Infrastructure and Lifeline SystemsThe Nexus hexagon names Infrastructure as the sixth sector, which the country editions do not yet assess. A lifelines edition gives the strategic series one place for power, water, communications, transport and health-service interdependencies.Proposed
SR-14Global Resilience Investment and National PortfoliosEvery country edition ends in a national risk portfolio, and the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) Capital Readiness desk reads capital. This edition closes the strategic series with the money side: investment needs, losses, risk transfer and recovery funds.Proposed
XT-096G, AI-RAN and Next-Generation ConnectivityConnectivity is the layer under digital public infrastructure (SR-10) and cloud and edge computing (XT-08); the IMT-2030 (6G) standards path is dated, so the baseline can be set now.Proposed
XT-13Additive and Advanced ManufacturingAdvanced manufacturing links materials (XT-12), supply chains (SR-03) and robotics (XT-03); its dependencies on feedstock, power and qualified parts are physical and measurable.Proposed
XT-15Advanced Nuclear and Next-Generation FissionFirm low-carbon power for grids and compute (GS-02, XT-01, XT-06) is where advanced fission is tested; fusion has its own edition (XT-14).Proposed
XT-17Climate Technologies and Carbon ManagementCapture, transport, storage and removal are infrastructure that the climate edition (GS-07) and the energy edition (GS-02) depend on for their pathways.Proposed
XT-19Earth Observation and Geospatial IntelligenceThe technology of satellites, sensors, archives and navigation signals. It is distinct from the sector edition GS-12, which reads what observation tells us about the planet. The split is confirmed at commissioning.Proposed
XT-20Neurotechnology and Human–Machine InterfacesImplanted interfaces are a new class of hardware and a new source of personal data, beside AI (XT-01) and genomics (XT-05); health and rights couplings are the reason for a baseline.Proposed

02 · Propose

How to propose a subject or contribute.

  1. Send a counter-proposal or a scoping note through the contribution form on this page, with the slot code, for example C-01 or XT-09, in the subject field.
  2. Say what the subject should cover, which country, sector or technology editions it would read across, and which open sources would carry its baseline.
  3. Evidence for the proposed subject is welcome now: a dataset release, an official statistic or a peer-reviewed paper, with its licence.
  4. The desk that owns the subject reviews every proposal at commissioning. The subject is confirmed, changed or replaced then, and the decision is listed in Releases and notices.
