National Working Groups (NWGs), established by the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) in over 120 countries, provide structured, inclusive platforms for advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR), innovation acceleration, and systemic resilience-building.
In Slovakia, the NWG strengthens national resilience by:
- Localizing disaster risk foresight frameworks and operationalizing Slovakia’s strategic priorities in alignment with the Pact for the Future;
- Enabling early warning systems, anticipatory governance, and innovation-driven systemic resilience to address Slovakia’s vulnerabilities to climate-related floods and droughts, urban and rural development disparities, biodiversity degradation, energy system transition challenges, and cybersecurity threats;
- Uniting ministries, scientific research institutions, indigenous knowledge holders, private sector innovators, and civil society organizations into a comprehensive resilience and policy innovation ecosystem;
- Serving as a nexus of policy, research, and innovation to strengthen disaster risk governance, sustainable development, and systemic foresight.
The Nexus Ecosystem (NE), developed by GCRI, underpins NWG operations by providing a sovereign-grade, open, and interoperable digital public goods infrastructure.
NE enables Slovakia to deploy real-time disaster risk intelligence systems, policy simulation environments, anticipatory governance frameworks, and sustainability monitoring platforms.
Together, NWG–Slovakia and NE form sovereign critical infrastructures for systemic disaster risk governance, responsible digital innovation, and anticipatory development leadership.
We call upon the Government of Slovakia, United Nations agencies, multilateral development banks, and international partners to formally recognize, support, and resource NWG–Slovakia and the Nexus Ecosystem as essential infrastructures for systemic resilience, innovation ecosystems, and sustainable futures.
Support NWG–Slovakia. Advance Risk-Informed Policy Innovation. Secure Digital Public Goods for Systemic Resilience.
