Excellencies,

We, the undersigned institutions, experts, and stakeholders committed to systemic foresight, responsible innovation, and sustainable resilience governance, respectfully submit this appeal for the formal recognition and institutional support of the National Working Group for Slovakia (NWG–Slovakia) and the Nexus Ecosystem (NE), developed by the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI).

Slovakia today faces emerging systemic risks:
Climate-driven floods and heatwaves, biodiversity loss, energy transition pressures, rural sustainability challenges, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
These systemic risks are consistent with the global foresight challenges identified in the Pact for the Future, demanding anticipatory, inclusive, and digitally resilient governance structures.

While Slovakia has demonstrated leadership in sustainability, digital economy growth, and disaster preparedness, further opportunities exist to embed disaster foresight systems, anticipatory governance mechanisms, and sovereign digital infrastructures across development sectors.

The National Working Group for Slovakia (NWG–Slovakia) addresses these opportunities by:

• Embedding systemic foresight, disaster risk governance, and anticipatory innovation into national, regional, and local strategies;

• Strengthening early warning infrastructures, risk scenario simulations, and foresight-based decision-making aligned with the operational protocols of the Emergency Platform;

• Mobilizing national and international expertise across ministries, scientific communities, innovation ecosystems, indigenous knowledge networks, and diaspora communities;

• Institutionalizing systemic sustainability and future generations protection mechanisms aligned with the Declaration on Future Generations.

NWG–Slovakia’s operational foundation is the Nexus Ecosystem (NE) — a sovereign, open, cloud-agnostic digital public goods platform that:

• Provides disaster risk modeling, policy simulation environments, innovation ecosystem foresight mapping, and resilience monitoring architectures;

• Embeds responsible digital governance frameworks, cybersecurity resilience systems, AI ethics protocols, and sovereign data protections in alignment with the Global Digital Compact;

• Supports resilience, well-being, and sustainability metrics aligned with the Beyond GDP Initiative, further reinforcing Slovakia’s sustainable development leadership.

Together, NWG–Slovakia and the Nexus Ecosystem provide Slovakia with a sovereign, scalable, and future-ready infrastructure for systemic resilience-building, digital sovereignty, and anticipatory governance.

Accordingly, we respectfully request:

1. Formal Recognition of NWG–Slovakia as a national platform advancing systemic disaster risk foresight, anticipatory policy innovation, sovereign digital resilience, and future generations stewardship under the Pact for the Future;

2. Institutional and Financial Support, enabling NWG–Slovakia’s integration into multilateral resilience financing frameworks, anticipatory governance programs, and sovereign digital public goods ecosystems;

3. Recognition of the Nexus Ecosystem (NE) as a sovereign digital public good critical for Slovakia’s disaster risk intelligence systems, anticipatory policy simulation frameworks, innovation ecosystem resilience, and sustainable development monitoring;

4. Framework Integration, ensuring systematic incorporation of NWG–Slovakia and NE outputs into global disaster risk dashboards, anticipatory governance platforms, innovation ecosystems, and Pact for the Future resilience tracking systems.

The systemic challenges confronting Slovakia demand sovereign, anticipatory, and digitally integrated resilience infrastructures.
NWG–Slovakia and the Nexus Ecosystem offer a transformative, sovereign, and future-ready pathway to advance systemic foresight, sustainable development innovation, and resilient governance leadership for Slovakia and global partners.

In full alignment with the Charter of the United Nations and the transformational mandates articulated in the Pact for the Future, we submit this appeal and reaffirm our commitment to collaborative action, systemic foresight leadership, responsible innovation, and sustainable future governance for Slovakia.
