Position Overview
GCRI USA invites applications and nominations for Board Directors who actively shape national, multilateral, or global agendas in finance, policy, infrastructure, innovation, and systemic risk management. The Board is tasked with ensuring strategic positioning, governance excellence, and capital enablement as GCRI USA delivers its national mission and strengthens its role in GCRI’s global architecture.
We seek distinguished leaders who hold or have recently held senior executive or governance roles in federal government institutions, central banks, sovereign funds, international organizations, top-tier investment firms, or leading innovation hubs. Board Members will help ensure GCRI USA is institutionally credible, politically relevant, and financially empowered to serve as the nation’s premier platform for anticipatory governance and strategic foresight.
Strategic Mandate for the Board
- Position GCRI USA as a trusted U.S. institutional hub for nonpartisan, sovereign-grade risk governance infrastructure.
- Guide GCRI’s capital mobilization strategy, catalyzing partnerships with federal funding mechanisms, strategic investors, philanthropic capital, and international financial institutions.
- Support the launch and scaling of national working groups, institutional demonstrators, and multilateral programming, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with U.S. priorities.
- Advise on U.S. engagement strategies in financial regulation, infrastructure modernization, national security resilience, climate adaptation, and technology governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide fiduciary, strategic, and governance oversight for GCRI USA as a federally registered nonprofit with global reach.
- Approve long-range strategies, budget frameworks, risk policies, and programmatic priorities.
- Represent GCRI USA in national and multilateral forums, advocating with key stakeholders including federal agencies, multilateral banks, sovereign funds, and global regulatory platforms.
- Collaborate with leadership on capital deployment pathways, blended finance instruments, and public-private partnerships.
- Serve on board committees covering audit, innovation, foresight diplomacy, global partnerships, and investment oversight.
- Uphold GCRI’s principles of institutional neutrality, multilateral ethics, and transparent governance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Senior leadership experience in sovereign finance, federal policymaking, multilateral institutions, regulatory authorities, global corporations, or large-scale investment entities.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital mobilization, risk governance, innovation strategy, or economic diplomacy.
- Strong understanding of systemic risks such as climate, macroeconomic volatility, public health security, cyber resilience, or digital infrastructure stability.
- Commitment to building public-purpose institutions and achieving system-level, long-term impact.
- High professional integrity, discretion, diplomatic capability, and cross-sector fluency.
Preferred Experience
- Board or executive roles in central banks, sovereign wealth funds, G7/G20 policy forums, international financial institutions, or global research consortia.
- Experience in ESG capital structuring, blended finance vehicles, infrastructure investment, or resilience-linked instruments.
- Familiarity with national security policy, treaty frameworks, regulatory innovation, and multilateral governance.
- Expertise at the intersection of technology policy, geopolitical stability, and economic security.
