About Nexus Accelerators
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) is an internationally recognized nonprofit institution with Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC. GCRI is the founding custodian of the Nexus Ecosystem, a sovereign-grade digital public infrastructure designed for risk governance, foresight intelligence, and clause-based innovation deployment.
As part of GCRI’s venture-building engine, Nexus Accelerators incubate and support early-stage ventures solving urgent global challenges across climate, health, AI, finance, earth observation, and digital public goods. Founders are supported with legal, fundraising, and governance frameworks to launch de-risked, clause-certified products under open and sovereign IP standards.
We are now onboarding founders to lead the engineering track of one of our flagship Nexus ventures toward a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) launch in 90 days.
Role Overview
You will serve as the technical founder and DevOps lead, responsible for architecting, deploying, and launching a scalable MVP that meets the technical, legal, and interoperability standards of the Nexus Ecosystem. You will work alongside GCRI’s core team of venture architects, systems modelers, and policy engineers to shape a product that is investment-ready, regulation-compliant, and globally scalable.
This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role designed for an engineering leader who thrives in early-stage environments, understands the discipline of resilient systems engineering, and is motivated to deliver a concrete MVP under accelerated, supported timelines.
Key Responsibilities
-
MVP Development:
Design, prototype, and deploy a robust MVP within 90 days using modern DevOps stacks (cloud-native, containerized, API-first, open-source). -
Technical Architecture:
Define and implement full-stack technical architecture aligned with GCRI’s clause-based governance and simulation-certification protocols. -
Team Leadership:
Lead internal and external contributors including contract developers, data engineers, and integrators across a secure, distributed environment. -
Security and Compliance:
Ensure infrastructure meets modern security standards (e.g., zero-trust, OWASP, SOC2-readiness, GDPR compliance). -
DevOps Automation:
Implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), and monitoring systems to ensure product stability and scalability. -
Product–Founder Collaboration:
Work directly with venture leads and domain experts to ensure technical execution is aligned with product vision, capital strategy, and stakeholder impact. -
Funding Readiness:
Contribute to due diligence materials, architecture decks, and demo assets to help secure pre-seed and seed-stage investment within 3–6 months. -
Documentation and Handoff:
Prepare technical documentation for open-source compliance, licensing, and handoff to partner development teams or future tech leads.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, full-stack engineering, or CTO-level roles in early-stage startups
- Proven track record delivering MVPs under time constraints using modern tech stacks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, React, Postgres, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP)
- Strong understanding of data privacy, interoperability protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, OpenAPI), and cybersecurity best practices
- Familiarity with open-source licensing (e.g., MIT, AGPL, Apache), commons-based IP, or public infrastructure tools
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills
- Experience building or scaling software in regulated sectors (health, finance, risk, public sector) is a strong plus
- Startup grit, founder mindset, and readiness to take initiative and own technical outcomes end-to-end
What We Offer
- Full support from GCRI’s multilateral legal, governance, and fundraising teams
- Immediate onboarding into an accelerator environment with UN-aligned mandate and international legitimacy
- Access to early capital partnerships through the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)
- Pathway to become permanent member of engineering committee or future CTO
- Revenue share structures under Nexus Commons protocols
- Full de-risking support: regulatory, legal, licensing, and foresight validation included
How to Apply
Please submit a short portfolio or GitHub, along with a note about your interest in the Nexus Ecosystem and ability to lead an MVP launch in a global, mission-driven environment.
