Digital Public Infrastructure subject groups are moderated forums where GovTech researchers and standards engineers discuss open questions in the digital public infrastructure field, such as identity and authentication and digital payments and services. Each group is listed once its moderation, terms and hosting are in place, with its scope and how to join. A group informs the platform's work and has no authority over its findings.

For subject groups, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on population density, night lights and true-colour imagery with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on India; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.
The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

DPI groups bring engineers, data protection specialists and inclusion advocates together, because design choices about identity and payments decide who is left out.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Community of practice | A group of people who share a concern or a craft and learn to do it better by interacting regularly; the term comes from Lave and Wenger's work on situated learning. |
| Chatham House Rule | A rule under which participants may use information received but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of speakers. |
| Interoperability | The ability of health information systems to exchange data and use it with the same meaning, using standards such as HL7 FHIR. |
| Foundational identity | A general-purpose legal identity, such as a civil register or national ID, used across services. |
The bodies and documents this page is read against. Status and editions change; each link goes to the issuing body.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
