Economic Development counterparts are the platforms at GRF and GRA that work on the same fields under other mandates, among them Capital Nexus at GRF as well as Development Finance Nexus and Disaster Risk Finance at GRA. GCRI studies a field as science, GRF governs it and GRA builds shared financial understanding of it, so each counterpart shows another side of economic development.
Fig.How GCRI, GRF and GRA share one field while the authorities decide. Design, not a record.
Economic shocks reach balance sheets and budgets, so the counterparts are GRA's development finance and sovereign debt platforms and GRF's capital platform. Economic Development supplies the analysis of how shocks travel through production, employment and public finance, drawing on network science and the public finance and risk topic.
Development finance and sovereign debt are GRA's; capital and development governance are GRF's. Economic Development supplies the economic evidence.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Counterpart platform | A platform at another Consortium institution that works in a shared field under a different mandate: science at GCRI, governance at GRF or financial understanding at GRA. |
| Field gateway | A GCRI page for one field that links the platforms studying it as science, governing it and building financial understanding of it, with the methods they share. |
| Science-policy interface | The arrangements through which scientific evidence reaches public decisions, including advisory committees, chief scientific advisers, academies and intergovernmental assessments. |
