Board Member- National Council of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation
LeadershipBookmark Details
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) is inviting senior executive leaders to join the Founding National Councils being established for the 2026–2030 build period.
This work is part of the formation of a new global risk management architecture designed to strengthen how countries and institutions prepare for, govern, and respond to increasingly interconnected risks. Within this architecture, GCRI helps build the backbone: the evidence base, institutional support systems, knowledge infrastructure, and public-interest foundation required for credible long-term coordination and action.
We are seeking leaders from top-tier national companies, financial institutions, universities, research institutions, civil society organizations, public-interest institutions, and major stakeholder bodies who can contribute at a serious governance and institution-building level.
Each National Council is structured through three connected chambers:
- Leadership Council: governance, direction, and stewardship
- Investor Council: financing, capital-readiness, and strategic backing
- Helix Councils: institutional participation across key stakeholder groups
Founding members will help:
- establish and strengthen national council architecture
- support National Desk activation and national coordination capability
- contribute to consortium building and long-term ecosystem formation
- connect national leadership across public, private, scientific, and civic sectors
- help build the institutional foundations of long-horizon risk governance
This role is intended for senior leaders with the credibility and capacity to help build the national backbone of the platform through evidence, institutional partnerships, policy engagement, and early-stage fundraising. Ideal candidates will bring executive or board-level experience in major national institutions and the ability to help secure a national mandate, mobilize public-interest and philanthropic support, engage government, academia, civil society, and strategic stakeholders, and contribute to the formation of a nationally owned consortium structure anchored in a nonprofit protocol and public-interest base, with strong national institutions positioned to support long-term infrastructure, knowledge systems, and risk-informed financing for development.
Participation may take place either:
- in an individual leadership capacity, or
- as an authorized representative of an organization participating through the relevant Helix Council institutional pathway
This is a serious founding-stage role for leaders who want to help shape the national platform early, contribute to a credible long-term architecture, and work alongside top-level peers across sectors.
