GCRI · Six programme regions
Asia and the Pacific region
Asia and the Pacific spans dense manufacturing and logistics networks, monsoon and glacier-fed basins, and island states facing compound climate and connectivity risk. Work runs by subregion, so national programmes compare semiconductor, port, energy and hazard dependencies without merging data or authority. The East Asia Nexus Consortium programme sits here. In formation, with three planned hubs (coordination roles, not offices). Part of Six programme regions.

Coverage by planned hub.
Each planned hub coordinates shared-system work for a group of countries. No hub host decision is on record, so each is a planned coordination role rather than an operating site.
| Planned hub | Countries covered | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| India | India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka | Monsoon and heat, river systems, food, health, digital infrastructure, grids and Indian Ocean connections. |
| Singapore | Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Viet Nam, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu | Import dependencies, ports, urban continuity, digital systems and finance. |
| Japan | Japan, China, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea | Seismic and tsunami resilience, manufacturing, robotics, ageing, energy and supply chains. |
Pacific island states are covered with Southeast Asia by the planned Singapore hub, so that island connectivity and import dependencies are examined together.

The cross-border questions this region examines.
Monsoon basins, manufacturing networks and island states, in one compatible evidence frame. Listing a country in a hub group does not by that fact give it a constituted programme.
| System | Question |
|---|---|
| Glacier-fed and monsoon basins | How will changes in snowmelt, monsoon timing and groundwater use alter water, power and food security across the Indus, Ganges-Brahmaputra and Mekong systems? |
| Semiconductor and electronics networks | Which fabrication, materials and logistics nodes are single points of failure for regional and global production? |
| Maritime chokepoints and ports | How would disruption at a strait or hub port propagate through energy imports, food and manufacturing? |
| Typhoon, cyclone and seismic hazards | Where do compound hazards meet dense exposure and limited restoration capacity? |
| Island connectivity | How many Pacific states depend on a single subsea cable or satellite path, and what continuity is realistic? |
Shared-system work compares governed outputs and preserves dissent. It creates no treaty, sovereignty transfer or right to move data. See Cross-border risk systems.

Domains, tools and offerings in regional demand.
The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) reads this region’s evidence for finance: catastrophe and protection-gap questions for typhoon, flood and earthquake exposure; supply-chain concentration in electronics and critical inputs; technology and compute concentration in regional financial infrastructure. GRA never lends, underwrites, rates or invests. See its regional programmes.
- Priority domains: Water, energy, climate and hazards, trade and supply chains, AI and cyber, data and compute, lifeline infrastructure.
- Foundry systems most used by regional missions: NXS-GRX (canonical data, provenance and risk) (data, evidence and risk products), NXS-DSS (decision cases and deliberation) (scenarios and decision analysis), NXS-COR (compute, nodes and runtimes) (infrastructure enrolment and placement), NXS-NET (network topology and continuity) (connectivity and continuity), NXS-EOP (earth observation and digital twins) (earth-observation evidence), NXS-EWS (multi-hazard monitoring and warning) (forecast verification and warning support).
- Offerings most relevant to regional demand: Sector and Critical-Infrastructure Resilience; Sovereign Data, Compute and AI Capability; Responsible Innovation and Interoperability Testbeds; Multi-Hazard and Anticipatory-Action Preparedness; Cross-Border and Shared-System Missions.
Programme state and how to take part.
State on record: in formation. No regional host is on record. The East Asia Nexus Consortium programme sits within this region. The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) publishes its programme page. It is in formation. The Secretariat confirms its formation records and participating structures before they are listed here. Information and enquiries are open today. Write to the regional desk at the contact form (Asia and Pacific desk) or the Secretariat at the contact form. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step. Engagement follows the Foundry sanctions and eligibility policy. Where it is not available, no desk or call to action appears.
