Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI)
How Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems organizes work into programmes: global priorities, regional applications and country work, each shown with its actual status.
Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems programmes organize its work on artificial intelligence as well as data and compute at three levels: global priorities, regional applications and country work. Each programme shows its recorded status, from exploring and forming to active, paused or archived, and a plan is never presented as an activity. Countries take part through their national programmes and the Consortium Secretariat.

For programmes and projects, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on night lights, true-colour imagery and population density with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on East Asia; 3 further NASA layers wait in the list.
The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Layers and dates
AI governance runs on global principles and scientific assessment, regional regulation and national institutions for oversight and assurance.
A programme is shown as exploring, forming, constituted, active, paused or archived, according to its record. A plan is never presented as an activity.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Programme | A group of related projects and activities managed together to obtain benefits that managing them separately would not, in the sense the Project Management Institute's programme standard uses. |
| Programme status | The recorded state of a programme on Nexus pages: exploring, forming, constituted, active, paused or archived. A plan is never presented as an activity. |
| Country ownership | The principle that a country leads its own development policies and strategies and coordinates the actions that support them, set out in the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. |
| AI system | A machine-based system that infers from inputs how to generate outputs such as predictions, content or decisions that can influence environments, in OECD usage. |

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
