Corrections and version history

How a record is corrected, what a correction changes, and what changed between snapshots. A correction keeps the identifier and adds a version; nothing is overwritten or deleted. The change log below is generated from the snapshot history: 7 entries.

01Version history

What changed, newest first.

Each entry is written when the snapshot is regenerated and its content has changed.

03How to report

Report an error in a record.

Use the identifier or the registry id of the record, say what is wrong and give the evidence.

  • Write to the Consortium Secretariat at the contact form with the record id and the evidence, or use the Reports gateway on any page and choose a correction.
  • For a Nexus Standards record, an error report is routed to the editors as an issue; a change to a standard is a proposal under NS-13 (the lifecycle).
  • For a source’s licence or admission state, the legal register is the authority; the registry shows what it says and does not decide.
04Process

What happens next.

StepWhat happens
TriageThe report is routed to the steward of the record’s type.
OpenThe record is marked correction open; it keeps its identifier.
DecideThe steward corrects, declines with a reason, or refers it to the owner of the register.
CloseA corrected record gets a new version, the change log names it, and the registry state returns to registered.
05Where the truth lives

The registry reads; the registers decide.

A fix to a standard belongs in the standards repository, a fix to a licence in the legal register, a fix to a page in the page source. The snapshot then picks it up. Correcting the snapshot by hand would be overwritten at the next regeneration, and it would be wrong.

07Questions

Questions and answers.

Is a corrected record the same record?
Yes. The identifier is unchanged and the version increases; the earlier version stays in the history.
How long does a correction take?
The registry sets no response time. The steward of the record’s type answers, and the change log shows when the fix lands.

Information and enquiries are open today. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
