The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI)
Moderated groups where specialists discuss questions in Quantum Technologies. Each group is listed here when its moderation, terms and hosting are in place, with its scope and how to join.
Quantum Technologies subject groups are moderated forums where quantum physicists and security engineers discuss open questions in the quantum field, such as quantum computing and quantum sensing. Each group is listed once its moderation, terms and hosting are in place, with its scope and how to join. A group informs the platform's work and has no authority over its findings.

For subject groups, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on night lights, population density and true-colour imagery with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on Japan and Korea; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.
The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Layers and dates
Quantum groups divide between cryptographic migration, which concerns every organisation now, and sensing and computing applications, where the questions are about evidence for capability.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Community of practice | A group of people who share a concern or a craft and learn to do it better by interacting regularly; the term comes from Lave and Wenger's work on situated learning. |
| Chatham House Rule | A rule under which participants may use information received but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of speakers. |
| Decoherence | The loss of quantum behaviour as a system interacts with its environment. |
| Logical qubit | A qubit encoded across many physical qubits using error correction. |
The bodies and documents this page is read against. Status and editions change; each link goes to the issuing body.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
