Anyone may read the public pages without giving personal information. Some pages discuss disasters, conflict, disease and other hazards in plain terms.
Enquiry forms and email routes are for people aged 16 and over. A younger person may write to us with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Where the law of the place where you live sets a higher age for consent, that age applies, and a younger person writes with the consent of a parent or guardian: for example under 18 in India and South Africa. In Québec, information of a person under 14 is collected only with the consent of the person having parental authority, and the same age applies in China and the Republic of Korea.
Contributors under the contributor terms must be 18 or over, or contribute with the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts the terms for them.
Information from a person under 18 is used only to answer the message and keep a record of it, and is never published without the consent of a parent or guardian.
The sites carry no advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking for anyone, including children.
If we learn that a child under 13, or under the higher age in their law, has sent personal information without the required consent, we answer only what safety requires and delete the information.
A parent or guardian may ask what we hold about their child, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent, by writing to privacy@therisk.global.
A concern about the safety of a child connected with GCRI's work or spaces is handled first. Write to safeguarding@therisk.global, or see safeguarding and complaints. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services.
Information and enquiries are open today. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
Maps, data and figures on this site are shown for context and general information. They are not advice, forecasts or warnings; the limits of the information are set out in the Disclaimers and Data Notices.
Our articles, maps and twins are free to read and free to republish. Readers and partners keep it that way.
GCRI is a not-for-profit institution. To ask who funds a piece of work, use the funding questions form.
Editors and the expert reviewers named on each article decide what we publish. Funders and partners do not review or approve articles before publication.
