The national series of Nexus Reports covers one country at a time, in quarterly editions and an annual report, listed as each is released. A national report is independent analysis, not an official government publication unless the competent authority has authorized it in writing.
Where people and networks concentrate, the exposure through which shocks travel between systems, shown for Nigeria as an example geography for this subject.
Four editions a year that follow one country's work, published in the Country Quarterly series.
The annual report, titled "Nexus Country Systems Risk and Resilience Report: [Country] [Year]", in the Country Systems series. The fourth quarterly edition may serve as the annual flagship.
| Edition | Question | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 · State and agenda | What matters this year, and what is the starting position? | Observed baseline stays distinct from planned work |
| Q2 · Evidence and build | What new evidence and capability have been developed? | A configured capability is not a validated result |
| Q3 · Stress test and readiness | What do scenarios and tests reveal? | Simulated loss or performance is not observed impact |
| Q4 · Annual synthesis and renewal | What did the year establish, and what changes next? | Release follows review, not event publicity deadlines |
A national report is written by the programme's authors and reviewers and published under the Nexus Reports method. It becomes an official publication of a government only if the competent authority authorizes that in writing, and the edition then says so on its first page. A country profile never implies a government commission where none exists.
Listing a country in a series plan does not mean a consortium, office or government relationship exists there.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| National risk assessment | A government's structured assessment of the most serious risks the country faces, their likelihood and impact. |
| Official statistics | Statistics produced by national statistical systems under professional and legal standards. |
| Competent authority | The body that a law or regulation designates to exercise a given power or duty, such as a supervisor, a civil protection agency or a ministry; only it can take the decisions the law assigns to it. |
National editions appear here as each is released. Every claim in an edition carries an evidence label: Observed, Officially reported, Institution-reported, Estimated, Modelled, Forecast, Scenario, Expert judgement and Unknown. Country research profiles are on national consortiums, and finance-readiness questions for countries are taken up by The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) on GRA country readiness.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
