The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI)
Many risks do not stop at borders: shared basins, power grids, trade corridors, disease and information move between countries. The regional series of Nexus Reports, published by The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI), compares countries and examines cross-border evidence across the six regions of the Nexus Consortiums. This page lists regional editions as each is released. No edition is shown until it is released. The current service level is R0: information and enquiries.

The regional series of Nexus Reports compares countries and examines cross-border evidence across the six regions of the Nexus Consortiums, for risks that do not stop at borders, such as shared basins, power grids, trade corridors, disease and information. Regional editions are listed as each is released.
Where people and networks concentrate, the exposure through which shocks travel between systems, shown for Latin America and the Caribbean as an example geography for this subject.
Regional editions are published in the Regional Systems series. They draw on national evidence and on the shared-system work of the programme, and they keep each country's findings separately attributable. Typical questions include a drought that reaches several countries through one river basin, a grid failure that crosses an interconnector, or a port disruption that changes food and fuel prices along a corridor. Each edition states which countries it covers, which data it could and could not use, and who reviewed it.

A country can belong to more than one region. Geography here is a set of relationships, not territorial ownership.
Comparisons use methods and data that are compatible across the countries, or say where they are not.
Each country's findings remain attributable to their own sources and reviewers.
Where partners disagree, the disagreement is recorded rather than averaged away.
Comparison explains differences in systems, data and context; it never produces a league table or a score for a government.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Transboundary basin | A river, lake or aquifer basin shared by two or more countries, where use upstream changes the water, sediment and risk that arrive downstream. |
| Spillover | The transmission of a pathogen from an animal host population to people or to another species. |
| Regional risk pool | A shared insurance facility, such as CCRIF SPC, that gives member governments parametric cover. |
Editions appear here as each is released. Shared-system questions are also described on GCRI shared systems, and regional governance dialogue is convened by The Global Risks Forum (GRF) on GRF regions.
No regional body binds a country, and a regional report binds no government.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
