Draft. Not in force.
This document is a draft. It is not legal advice and it is not in force. It becomes required only when the owner adopts it by a recorded decision in nexus-governance. Until then nothing here blocks anyone’s work.
Licence grant
You keep copyright in your contribution. You license it as follows, and you grant the publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish, host, archive, translate, format and distribute it under these terms:
- text, figures and maps: CC BY 4.0;
- data: CC0 1.0;
- code: the OSI-approved licence you name in the licence manifest (Apache-2.0 recommended).
The licence for a published version cannot be withdrawn. You may publish the same work elsewhere.
Warranties of originality and no infringement
You warrant that you wrote the work or have the right to submit it; that it is not under a conflicting agreement; that it does not infringe copyright, privacy, confidentiality or other rights; and that it is not defamatory or unlawful.
Third-party material
You list every third-party item in the licence manifest with its licence, source and attribution. You have permission where a licence is not enough. You do not include material under NC, ND or SA terms unless counsel has cleared it.
AI use
You complete the AI-Use Declaration for each submission. A named human is accountable for every part of the work. AI cannot be an author.
Authorship and CRediT
Every listed author meets the authorship criteria in the Authorship and Contributor Roles Declaration, has agreed to be listed, and has a CRediT role. No one who qualifies is left out and no one is listed as a courtesy.
Funding
You disclose all funding and the role of any funder in the work. Funders do not control content or publication.
Competing interests
You declare financial, professional and personal interests that could be seen to affect the work, using the Conflict-of-Interest and Competing-Interests Declaration.
What the publisher does
The publisher publishes accepted work free to read, credits you, keeps the record, and corrects or retracts under the Corrections, Retractions and Appeals Policy.
Personal data
The Data Protection and Privacy Notice explains how we handle your data. Names and identifiers of authors are public in the published record.
Record and withdrawal
Your acceptance is recorded in the acceptance ledger. It is an acceptance record by your signed-in account, not a qualified electronic signature. You may withdraw this agreement for future submissions. Withdrawal does not affect published versions.
Governing law (proposal)
The laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Counsel to confirm.
