Role Description

The Director of the Knowledge Mobilization Committee is entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of steering the committee’s efforts to disseminate knowledge throughout GCRI. This role involves ensuring that the most recent research, findings, and insights are not only accessible but also effectively communicated to all pertinent stakeholders, both internal and external. As the leader of this committee, the Director plays a crucial role in shaping GCRI’s knowledge-sharing strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Craft and implement a comprehensive knowledge mobilization strategy that aligns with GCRI’s mission and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaborations with academic institutions, research entities, and other knowledge hubs to ensure a continuous flow of updated knowledge.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Oversee the organization and facilitation of knowledge-sharing platforms, such as seminars, webinars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Resource Curation: Lead the curation, publication, and distribution of insightful publications, whitepapers, and other resources to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Guide, mentor, and support the committee members, ensuring they have the resources and direction needed to succeed.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess the effectiveness of knowledge dissemination initiatives, making necessary adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal teams, external partners, and the broader GCRI community to gather feedback and insights on knowledge mobilization efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of global trends in knowledge mobilization and implement best practices to enhance the committee’s effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Knowledge Management, Communication, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in knowledge mobilization, knowledge management, or a related field, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to craft and implement effective knowledge dissemination strategies.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Proven experience in fostering collaborations and partnerships with academic and research institutions.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
