01In brief

The short answer.

Systems Science and Modelling publications are the platform's reviewed, citable outputs, such as model intercomparison studies, validation protocols, and method notes in Nexus Reports Methods and Technical. Each carries its authors, date, method, evidence labels and editorial status, and a correction creates a new version with its history. Contributions to series such as Methods and Technical as well as Scenario and Stress-Test also appear in Nexus Reports.

Research and publications: systematic evidence synthesisA question is framed with its owner and a protocol registered; records are searched, screened and checked for eligibility by two reviewers; data are extracted, synthesised and graded for certainty before a brief is written. Design of the process, not a record of a run.

03Geography

Hazards and exposure in North America.

For research and publications, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on true-colour imagery and land cover with relief in 3D and true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on North America; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

04What is published

Every output shows its status.

  • Each publication carries its authors, date, method, evidence labels and editorial status.
  • Corrections create a new version with its history.
  • Series contributions also appear in Nexus Reports; see Publish in Nexus Reports.
05Output types

What systems modelling publications look like.

Publications are method notes and scenario documentation for analysts, with full model documentation and negative results. They draw on optimisation and the networks and cascades topic. Code and data are released where licences allow, with a citation for each component model and its developers, so that credit and responsibility stay visible.

Publications document models fully and report negative validation results.

  • Method notes.
  • Scenario documentation.

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Version of recordThe fixed version of a work that a publisher formally declares published; later changes appear as dated corrections or new versions, never as silent edits, in the sense NISO's journal article versions recommendation uses.
Peer reviewEvaluation of a work by independent experts in the field before publication.
CorrectionA published notice that amends an error in a work whose main findings stand.
Evidence labelA tag on an assertion naming the kind of evidence behind it, such as observed, officially reported or modelled.
