01In brief

The short answer.

Publishing in Nexus Reports is how Systems Science and Modelling findings reach the Consortium's versioned report series, here Methods and Technical as well as Scenario and Stress-Test. A contribution is a reviewed finding with its method, evidence labels and limits; series editors check scope and consistency, and no funder, sponsor or member can buy or block a finding.

Publish in Nexus Reports: the policy cycleA problem reaches the agenda, options are formulated and appraised, consultation tests them, the mandate holder decides, implementation and monitoring follow, and evaluation feeds the next agenda. Design of the process, not a record of a run.

03Geography

Hazards and exposure in North America.

For publish in nexus reports, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on true-colour imagery and land cover with relief in 3D and true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on North America; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Where this field publishes.

05Series

Where systems modelling findings are published.

Systems Modelling contributes to Methods and Technical and Scenario and Stress-Test editions for analysts and planners. A specialist looks for model documentation and negative validation results. Contributions build on probability and the intercomparison topic. Editions include the full scenario definition so others can reproduce it.

06Review

From finding to edition.

  1. 01

    Contribution

A reviewed finding with its method, evidence labels and limits.

  2. 02

    Editorial review

Series editors check scope, method and consistency.

  3. 03

    Publication

The edition is published with its version history.

  4. 04

    Correction

Challenges are answered and corrections published as new versions.

07Key terms

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Editorial independenceThe condition in which editors decide what is published on the validity and relevance of the work, free from interference by owners, funders or sponsors, as ICMJE and COPE guidance describe it.
Living reportA report updated in versions as evidence changes, with each version kept and dated.
Grey literatureMaterial produced outside commercial and academic publishing, such as reports, filings and working papers.
Version of recordThe fixed version of a work that a publisher formally declares published; later changes appear as dated corrections or new versions, never as silent edits, in the sense NISO's journal article versions recommendation uses.
10Questions

Questions and answers.

Who decides what is published?
The series editors, following the series method. No funder, sponsor or member can buy or block a finding.
