The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI)
The public technical tools of Trade and Strategic Resources: what can be learned from them, the data behind them and their limits.
Trade and Strategic Resources tools are the public technical views the platform releases on trade, resources and supply chains: maps and model descriptions, each with its time and space reference, sources, licence and uncertainty. Analysis runs in Nexus Foundry for authorized projects, and data that is not released is not available through these pages.

For data and technical methods, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on night lights, true-colour imagery and population density with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on the Strait of Malacca; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.
The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Layers and dates
Supply-chain tools serve trade and industry ministries, procurement agencies and analysts. A specialist checks the chain stage of a concentration figure, its value or volume basis and the trade data date. Tools rest on network science and econometrics and support the critical minerals and supplier concentration topics.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Public-safe release | A recorded decision on the detail at which a layer may be published without exposing sensitive sites or people. |
| Coordinate reference system | The definition that ties coordinates to locations on Earth, catalogued with EPSG codes. |
| Model card | A short document describing a model's intended use, training data, performance and limits. |
The bodies and documents this page is read against. Status and editions change; each link goes to the issuing body.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
