GCRI

Events and programme sessions

Events of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) appear here only when scheduled and approved, with a date, an accountable organiser and a confirmed host. None meets that rule yet, so none is listed. The Global Risks Forum (GRF) governs annual convening and the Universe programme: see its events and dialogue calendar.

01Listing rules

What an event needs before it appears here.

An event is listed only when every item below is on record. Without them, a plan stays a plan and is not presented as a session.

  • A confirmed date, time zone and format
  • An accountable GCRI organiser and the organisation that acts, GCRI Canada or GCRI US
  • Host authority and readiness evidenced, where a venue or host is involved
  • A stated audience, purpose and agenda owner
  • Accessibility arrangements and the registration route, if registration is open
  • A privacy note for any personal data collected

Process

Events and programme sessions: Convening from idea to record

A governed convening passes intake, design and public-safe review before moderation; its record is made, outputs are classified, and a competent actor decides.

  1. 01 Prepare

    1. 01Intake and scopingStepA forum idea enters intake and is classified by purpose, audience, sensitivity, domain, public-safe implications and review.
    2. 03DesignRecordA forum has a defined scope, format, participant logic, moderation plan, records plan, output plan, public-safe posture and follow-up route.
    3. 04Invitation and briefingStepInvitations set expectations. Weak invitations create wrong expectations.
  2. 02 Review

    1. 05Public-safe reviewGatePublic-safe review is the gate before convening. The convening is held with moderation, after review only.
  3. 03 Convene

    1. 06Moderated conveningExerciseModeration helps protect the architecture from drift during live exchange. It prevents discussion from becoming false consensus.
  4. 04 Record and route

    1. 02Corrections return through public-safe reviewRecordCorrections to the record return through public-safe review.
    2. 07Make the recordRecordRecords state what the event was and was not, what was discussed, concluded and left unresolved, and the next steps.
    3. 08Classify the outputsStepAfter the forum, outputs are classified. A transcript is not a decision, and a recommendation is not adoption.
    4. 09Route the outputsStepClassified outputs follow four routes.
    5. 10A competent actor decidesDecision · The competent actorAfter a handoff, a competent actor takes the decision under its own authority. Decisions stay with competent actors.

04Registration

Event registration opens only when it can be run properly.

Information and enquiries are open today. Registration opens only when its team, terms and review capacity are in place. Until then, send interest in a session to the Secretariat. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.

A listed session is not an endorsement of any participant, and attendance confers no membership, appointment or status.

05Questions

Questions and answers.

Why are no events listed?
Because events appear only once they are scheduled and approved with an accountable organiser and, where relevant, a confirmed host. The page does not show planned or provisional sessions as if they were confirmed.
Where are the Universe sessions?
Universe is governed by The Global Risks Forum and has its own website. GCRI supports it technically through its technical office, described on the programmes pages.
Can I propose a session or offer to host one?
Yes. Write to the contact form with the purpose, audience and host details. A proposal receives a reference; no session is presented as confirmed before host authority and readiness are evidenced.
Will past sessions be recorded here?
Where a session took place and its record is approved for publication, it can be listed with its date and outputs. Records follow the same review and correction rules as other GCRI publications.
