Nexus Universe technical office

Nexus Universe is the annual operating, integration, exercise and learning programme of Nexus Consortiums. The Global Risk Forum (GRF) governs it and publishes it at universe.nexus. The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) runs the technical office: mission scoping, data and method qualification, the Core build, exercise control support and evidence capture. Governance, editions and participation belong to GRF. Part of GCRI programmes.

02Contribution

What the technical office does.

The technical office works through the year, not only in the week of exercises. Its outputs are records that the programme's governance, evaluators and reviewers can inspect.

WorkWhat it produces
Mission scopingA mission scope with objectives, data, methods and evaluation questions
QualificationQualification records for data, methods and contributed resources
Core buildBuild evidence, measured readiness and known defects for the temporary Core
Exercise supportSupport to exercise controllers and independent evaluators
Evidence captureRun, decision and observation records sealed for review
CloseoutA technical closeout and an improvement backlog

06Boundaries

Where the technical office stops.

  • GRF governs the programme; the technical office has no governance role.
  • Neither membership nor sponsorship secures a compute allocation, and an offer is not an allocation.
  • The final stage is a planned stand-down; review, reconciliation and corrections continue afterwards.
  • No edition, date or host is shown until its record exists.
07Twin and cascade simulator

Model Nexus Universe technical office as a system. Run the cascade.

Assembled from the Nexus Standards area profile Global and systemic risk: the hazards it names, the systems and sectors that carry the loss, the controls that dampen it and the data that observe it. Choose the components, pick an initiating hazard and step through the cascade. The Map view places the run on an example geography with open data. Every coupling weight is a stated assumption you can change. A teaching model, not a forecast, an assessment or a certification.

09Questions

Questions and answers.

Who runs Nexus Universe?
GRF governs the programme within its instruments. GCRI provides the technical office, and GRA leads the finance-readiness track.
How does a mission get into Universe?
Missions are scoped during the year and admitted at gate G1 by the annual programme. Technical qualification follows at G2.
Can my organization contribute computing to Universe?
Contributors can make a resource offer with its owner, constraints and availability window. The offer receives a disposition and, if suitable, a qualification record; allocation is a separate approved step.
Is Universe a conference?
No. It is an annual operating, integration, exercise and learning programme, not a single event, trade show or funding platform.
