B.3Regional reading, Kenya by county

By early June 2026 the WHO report listed a cholera cluster of 32 cases with no deaths in Dagahaley camp, 1,269 dengue cases (52 PCR-confirmed) in Garissa Township and measles in Dadaab [33].

HEALTH

Concurrent outbreaks

Wajir, Mandera and Tana River held about 65% of people in IPC Phase 4. Garissa is not named in the brief, so county figures are not bound [32].

FOOD

Arid-county food insecurity

Water-point functionality is not bound. Source: national drought management authority and county water records. Blocker: not retrieved.

B.5Kenya system card

The card through which Kenya appears in the Africa regional edition and the global series. It summarises; it does not rank.

Context

Archetype
lower-middle-income economy with a geothermal and hydro grid and large arid counties
Population
57.5 million (2025)1
Trade
imports electricity and petroleum products; wider trade not bound25
Hazard
floods and drought; 478 flood deaths in 202435

Kenya’s card sits beside its neighbours’; shared basins, grids, corridors and supply chains are read as one regional system.

AFRICA REGIONAL EDITION

One regional system

Kenyan evidence enters the water, energy, food, finance and climate sector reports through the same finding identifiers, so a correction travels everywhere at once.

GLOBAL SECTOR SERIES

Same findings, same IDs

In the global edition Kenya is read against peer distributions and thresholds, never placed in a league table.
