Position Overview

Stepping into the role of an Event and Workshop Coordinator Volunteer at GCRI, you will be at the epicenter of our community engagement efforts. Key Responsibilities

  1. Event Planning & Coordination:
    • Conceptualization: Brainstorm and design event concepts that align with GCRI’s mission and objectives.
    • Logistics Management: Oversee venue selection, catering, technology setup, and other logistical aspects.
  2. Workshop Organization:
    • Content Curation: Collaborate with subject matter experts to curate workshop content that resonates with the audience.
    • Resource Allocation: Ensure all workshop materials, from handouts to multimedia presentations, are prepared and available.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Speaker Coordination: Liaise with keynote speakers, panelists, and workshop leaders, ensuring they have all they need for a successful session.
    • Participant Management: Handle registrations, feedback, and post-event follow-ups with attendees.
  4. Promotion & Marketing:
    • Event Promotion: Design and execute promotional campaigns across various platforms, including social media, to ensure maximum attendance.
    • Collateral Creation: Oversee the design of event brochures, banners, and other promotional materials.
  5. Post-Event Analysis:
    • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from participants to continually refine and improve future events.
    • Performance Metrics: Analyze event success metrics, from attendance to engagement, and provide insights for future strategies.
  6. Continuous Learning & Development:
    • Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest event management tools, technologies, and best practices.
    • Professional Growth: Attend industry seminars, workshops, and conferences to continually refine your event management acumen.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field. Preference for 3rd and 4th-year students with a focus on event coordination.
  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience in event planning or coordination is a plus. Participation in event-centric workshops or seminars is beneficial.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and logistics.
  • Communication Skills: Stellar written and verbal communication capabilities.
