Shared specialist services

Six established platforms of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) serve every field in the specialist network: Nexus Registry for records, Nexus Labs for experiments, Nexus Reports for publications, Nexus Foundry for the work environment, Nexus Agency for expertise, and Nexus Campaigns for public participation. No field platform has to rebuild them. Today's service level is R0, information and enquiries.

04One loop

How the services connect.

  1. 01

    Build

Work is built in Nexus Foundry, across its twenty Foundry systems.

  2. 02

    Test

Experiments run in Nexus Labs, and selected work enters the annual Nexus Universe programme.

  3. 03

    Record

Status, provenance and corrections are kept in Nexus Registry.

  4. 04

    Publish

Reviewed findings are released through Nexus Reports.

05Twin and cascade simulator

Model shared specialist services as a system. Run the cascade.

Assembled from the Nexus Standards area profile Global and systemic risk: the hazards it names, the systems and sectors that carry the loss, the controls that dampen it and the data that observe it. Choose the components, pick an initiating hazard and step through the cascade. The Map view places the run on an example geography with open data. Every coupling weight is a stated assumption you can change. A teaching model, not a forecast, an assessment or a certification.

Hazards

  • Dam failure
  • Financial contagion
  • River flood (set off downstream)

06Methods commons

A shared methods platform in development.

The Systems Science and Modelling platform, in development, is designed as the methods commons that every field platform depends on, alongside the STEM Commons. It makes no claim of activity until its community and editors are in place.

A service platform describing a capability does not mean the capability is available to you. Access follows the service level and the terms of each service.

07Questions

Questions and answers.

Can I use Nexus Foundry today?
Nexus Foundry has its own terms and access rules. The Nexus Foundry platform on therisk.global is the public gateway to it, and project permissions stay within Foundry.
Is a Registry record an approval?
No. A record shows status and provenance. It is not an approval, certification or endorsement.
How do I request technical assistance?
Through Nexus Agency or the Secretariat. Technical assistance is bounded capacity-building under a defined scope, never procurement, financing or execution authority.
Do the services work for GRF and GRA platforms too?
The shared services support the whole Consortium where agreed. Each institution keeps its own publisher and voice for its own platforms.

Bring a method, a dataset or a question.

The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
