Nexus Agency is the platform of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) for competence-based technical assistance and expert matching under explicit terms and mandates. This page lists assignments and missions only when each one is approved and documented: a named host mandate, a written scope, the competence it needs and the person who supervises it. No assignment is shown until its record exists. The current service level is R0: information and enquiries.

Nexus Agency assignments are approved, documented pieces of technical assistance: each has a named host mandate, a written scope, the competence it needs and the person who supervises it. The page lists an assignment only once its record exists, and the host institution keeps authority over the work and its results.
The jurisdictions that hold authority over this question: countries, their first-level divisions and capitals, shown for the Caribbean as an example geography for this subject.
Each entry is designed to carry the facts a candidate needs to judge fit and a host needs to stand behind the request. An entry missing any of them is not published.
The institution asking for the work, the mandate under which it asks and the organization that will contract, if anyone does.
The question, the deliverables, the term, the location or remote arrangement, and what the assignment does not include.
The fields, methods and level of experience required, and whether the role is voluntary, paid or a supervised learning placement.
Assignments open through the same service ladder as every Consortium service. At R0, this page explains how assignments will work; candidates can register their interest by writing to experts@therisk.global. The acknowledgement gives a reference and names the next step.
A host describes the need. The request is scoped against the technical assistance types and boundaries.
The responsible programme team checks mandate, scope, safeguarding and resources before the assignment is published.
Candidates are compared on documented competence, as set out under skills and review, and declare conflicts before selection.
The contracting organization issues written terms. Supervision and reporting lines are named before work starts.
Deliverables are reviewed, a contribution record is kept and the listing is marked closed rather than deleted.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Technical assistance | Non-financial support such as expertise, training, advice on methods and help with institutional systems, provided at the request of the institution that owns the work. |
| Terms of reference | The document that defines an assignment's objectives, scope, deliverables, counterpart, acceptance criteria and reserved decisions. |
| Key expert | An expert named in a winning proposal whose qualifications were scored in the award. |
| Secondment | Temporary assignment of an employee to another organisation while remaining employed by the first. |
An assignment is bounded technical work. It is not employment by GCRI unless a written contract says so, it confers no authority to procure, finance or decide on a host's behalf, and a learning placement is never a professional licence or a promise of employment.
Interdisciplinary missions with several specialists are described under interdisciplinary teams.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
