01In brief

The short answer.

Society and Human Development counterparts are the platforms at GRF and GRA that work on the same fields under other mandates, among them Information Integrity and Public Trust at GRF as well as Institutional Funds Nexus at GRA. GCRI studies a field as science, GRF governs it and GRA builds shared financial understanding of it, so each counterpart shows another side of society and human development.

Design of the arrangement, not a record.

04Three sides

How human development science meets governance and finance.

Information integrity governance is GRF's; institutional funds and social finance are GRA's. Human Development supplies the social evidence; chapters cover humanitarian risk and displacement, media and information systems and population and demographic futures.

TermDefinition
Counterpart platformA platform at another Consortium institution that works in a shared field under a different mandate: science at GCRI, governance at GRF or financial understanding at GRA.
Field gatewayA GCRI page for one field that links the platforms studying it as science, governing it and building financial understanding of it, with the methods they share.
Science-policy interfaceThe arrangements through which scientific evidence reaches public decisions, including advisory committees, chief scientific advisers, academies and intergovernmental assessments.

09Questions

Questions and answers.

Why three institutions?
Each brings a different mandate: science and evidence at GCRI, governance and convening at GRF, and shared financial-sector understanding at GRA.
