Information integrity is a risk field because collective action in a crisis depends on people receiving accurate warnings and trusting the institutions that issue them; manipulated or chaotic information environments break that link.

Information and public trust as a field covers the quality of the information ecosystem, the spread of misinformation and disinformation, and the trust that people place in institutions and evidence. In the Nexus Consortium it is studied as science at GCRI by Nexus Campaigns as well as Society and Human Development as well as governed at GRF by Information Integrity and Public Trust; this gateway links those platforms and the methods they share.
Where people live and how far each division sits from a large city's services, shown for China as an example geography for this subject.
No platform yet in this field.
An early warning works only if it is received, understood, believed and acted on. Research on risk communication shows that trust in the source, consistency across channels and clear action guidance matter as much as accuracy. Coordinated manipulation, synthetic media and platform design can erode each of those conditions.
