Topics

Topics at Data and Compute: the pages in this section are listed below, each with its own scope and status.

01In brief

The short answer.

The Data and Compute topics are the eight subject dossiers of its field, among them public interest data infrastructure, high performance computing, and cloud and edge systems. Each dossier sets out how the risk develops, what is measured and in which units, the public sources and their licences, the methods, who decides and the limits of the evidence.

02About this section

Topics at Data and Compute.

GCRI is a research, development and policy institution. It is not a regulator, and it does not certify, license or approve; its findings carry their methods and uncertainty.

03How the topics fit

How the data and compute topics connect.

The topics run from public-interest data infrastructure and computing capacity through chips, rights and reproducibility to the energy and water costs of compute and access to research infrastructure.
