Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI)
How researchers, practitioners and institutions take part in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, and what taking part does and does not mean.
GCRI · In development · service level R0
Taking part in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems is open to AI researchers, applied scientists and safety engineers and to institutions and national programmes working on artificial intelligence. Experts contribute knowledge, review or data; institutions follow the GCRI participation routes; countries go through the Consortium Secretariat. An enquiry receives a reference and creates no membership, role or influence over findings.
Fig.The path from an enquiry to a credited contribution. Design, not a record; no step creates membership.
For participation paths, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on population density, night lights and true-colour imagery with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on East Asia; 3 further NASA layers wait in the list.
The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

Contribute expertise, review or data. Write to contact@therisk.global.
Country work goes through the Consortium Secretariat at contact@therisk.global.
Evaluation results with their full setup, red-team findings shared under responsible disclosure and public-service use cases are the most useful contributions.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Declaration of interests | A written statement in which an expert or participant discloses financial, professional and personal interests that could constitute a real, potential or apparent conflict of interest, so that others can judge and manage it; WHO uses this procedure for its experts. |
| Service level R0 | The current service level of Nexus pages: information and enquiries only. An enquiry receives a reference and a named next step; it creates no membership, contract, assignment or commitment. |
| Community of practice | A group of people who share a concern or a craft and learn to do it better by interacting regularly; the term comes from Lave and Wenger's work on situated learning. |
