Speakers: Florence Chelagat Keter Course Aim: Interpret Spectrum Management concepts, policies, and procedures. Facilitate cooperation to support Spectrum Management for UN peace operations. Radio essentials for Spectrum Managers. Learners will be able to: Be acquainted with international spectrum issues and their impact on UN missions. Understand UN Spectrum Management and its embedding into the UN structure and organization. Understand UN cooperation in Spectrum Management with non-UN and national civilian/military Spectrum Administrations. Understand and become familiar with the radio essentials for Spectrum Managers. Understand the UN Frequency Assignment process. Be familiar with UN (SOFA/SOMA/MOFA) Spectrum Management rules, regulations, and directives. Methodology / Course Structure:This intensive two-week course is comprised of interactive technical and policy lectures, along with open discussions on the subject matter according to the training schedule. The course, structured with the guidance of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to navigate the ever-evolving Spectrum Management landscape. Through presentations, participants will delve deep into specially crafted modules, each honing a distinct set of learning objectives pertinent to contemporary Radio Frequency Spectrum Management best practices and the Electro-Magnetic Environment (EME). The course uses a combination of formative and summative assessments, resulting in a numerical grade being assigned, which is considered in conjunction with the overall performance of the student.
