Disaster risk governance is the cornerstone of the Sendai Framework. While two thirds of countries have established national DRR strategies, effective implementation of multisectoral risk governance requires considerable improvements. To accelerate DRR and resilience in the remaining five years of the Sendai Framework and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is critical to reassess governance mechanisms and institutional structures with a systems-thinking approach. It is important to strengthen policy coherence, including with climate action, for more effective national and local implementation. This high-level dialogue will explore good practices in disaster risk governance, emphasizing community-driven and gender-responsive approaches. https://globalplatform.undrr.org/conference-event/hld2-strengthening-disaster-risk-governance-transformative-action-and-outcomes
