The Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework revealed persistent DRR financing gaps, especially in low-income countries. In addition, it found that even where traditional financing mechanisms are operational, financing is overly focused on hazard event response, and is often poorly targeted. This high-level dialogue will discuss the course correction needed to scale financing solutions at national and local levels. Key topics will include the role of context-specific financing, successfully engaging communities and the diverse stakeholders within them to design effective financing solutions, and how innovative mechanisms such as sovereign risk pools, catastrophe bonds and municipal resilience bonds can complement traditional financing mechanisms for improved outcomes on the ground. https://globalplatform.undrr.org/conference-event/hld3-what-will-it-take-scale-drr-financing-national-and-local-levels
