01In brief

The short answer.

Quantum Technologies research is the evidence work behind the platform: questions such as quantum computing and quantum sensing, answered with physics and quantum science as well as quantum computing, sensing and communication and reviewed before publication. Every result carries an evidence label, from observed to modelled or expert judgement, and missing data is shown as missing, never filled silently.

03Geography

Connected activity in Japan and Korea.

For research and evidence, in GCRI's spatial-intelligence reading, the map opens on true-colour imagery, night lights and land cover with true colour from NASA GIBS, framed on Japan and Korea; every other NASA layer, live feed and forecast waits in the layer list.

The interactive map needs JavaScript; the layer list and sources are below.

05Open questions

What quantum research cannot yet answer well enough for decisions.

Quantum risk analysis has to separate what has been demonstrated from what is projected. The agenda is about cryptographic transition, sensing applications and the workforce and supply chains the field depends on.

  • How long will large organisations need to migrate to post-quantum cryptography, and what slows them? See post-quantum cryptography.
  • Where could quantum sensing improve navigation, timing and subsurface observation? See quantum sensing.
  • What capabilities do current quantum computers demonstrably have? See quantum computing.
  • Which materials and components constrain the field's supply chain? See quantum and materials.

Can I propose a research question?
Yes. Write to contact@therisk.global with the question, the context and who would use the answer. A proposal receives a reference; it does not commit the platform to the work.
