The high-level cross-regional side event of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen co-hosted by First Ladies of Ukraine and Estonia together with Belize and Lithuania to be held on the margins of the Summit of the Future and the High-Level Segment of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, aims to tackle a pressing global issue: securing a safer and brighter future for the younger generation.
  • International Research Presentation: Overview of the findings from the “Protecting Childhood” study.
  • Panel Discussion: Insights and experiences from representatives of co-host countries and experts in the field.
  • Personal Stories: Accounts from youth illustrating the real-life impact of the challenges discussed.
  • Co-Host Contributions: Showcases from co-host countries detailing their efforts and initiatives in child protection.
The goal of convening the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen global platform together with Summit of the Future is to unite First Ladies and Gentlemen through diplomacy, experience exchange, and highlight the role of soft power in finding solutions to global issues. The theme of this event also aligns with the goals of the Pact of the Future, which addresses global threats to peace and security, including the protection of children’s rights. Objectives: 1. Highlight Children’s Rights: Draw attention to the critical need for restoring and protecting children’s rights on both national and international levels. 2. Foster Partnerships: Emphasize the role of partnerships and collaboration in addressing global challenges affecting children. 3. Present Research Findings: Share insights from the International Sociological Study titled “Protecting Childhood: Dimensions of Safety for the Younger Generation,” which assesses key threats to children’s well-being globally. 4. Share Experiences: Provide a platform for discussing common and personal experiences related to child protection and highlight successful strategies.
