Algeria Risks Forum 2025
The Global Risks Forum – National Engagement Series: Algeria is an annual, hybrid-format initiative led by NWG Algeria, an independent coalition of national and international experts. Operating autonomously from the Government of Algeria or any political affiliation, NWG Algeria serves as a nonpartisan platform for open, evidence-based dialogue and innovation in disaster risk reduction (DRR), disaster risk finance (DRF), and disaster risk intelligence (DRI).
This series is embedded within the broader mission of the Global Risks Alliance (GRA) and Global Risks Forum (GRF)—a global initiative addressing systemic risks through foresight-driven collaboration, technology integration, and cross-sector resilience strategies. It creates a structured and inclusive space for actors from the quintuple helix—academia, civil society, the private sector, international organizations, and public institutions—to engage as stakeholders in shaping Algeria’s risk governance ecosystem.
Strategic Purpose
The Algeria series aims to:
- Support independent, high-level discourse on national, regional, and systemic risks;
- Accelerate the application of emerging technologies for climate adaptation, DRR, and sustainability;
- Advance anticipatory governance, parametric finance, and resilient infrastructure planning;
- Strengthen transdisciplinary collaboration for localized, scalable solutions that reflect Algeria’s context and priorities.
Each session focuses on actionable outcomes—ranging from co-designing national action frameworks to developing simulation-based policy tools and operational models that embed accountability, transparency, and sustainability.
Technical Foundation: Nexus Ecosystem Integration
The forum is powered by the Nexus Ecosystem, a modular, AI-enabled infrastructure designed to enable real-time, cross-sectoral risk governance. Participants engage with integrated capabilities such as:
- Advanced forecasting and simulation through high-performance computing and machine learning
- Geospatial intelligence and Earth Observation for dynamic hazard exposure mapping
- Event-driven digital service orchestration for data and operational workflow management
- Multi-sensor early warning systems and anomaly detection for rapid threat response
- Blockchain-enabled anticipatory action systems and automated resource mobilization
- Disaster risk finance instruments including parametric models and smart contracts
- Strategic dashboards and scenario analysis tools for institutional decision-making
- Standardized benchmarking for evidence-based reporting and multi-hazard risk indexing
These tools allow Algerian institutions and communities to assess, model, and respond to risks in a coordinated, transparent, and technology-enabled manner.
Governance and Participation
All activities under NWG Algeria are conducted independently of the Algerian government and political structures, ensuring that the Forum remains free from political interference and focused on technical excellence, scientific integrity, and ethical independence.
Participation is open to professionals, networks, and institutions from across Algeria and the diaspora, as well as international partners who share a commitment to open collaboration and system transformation. The forum promotes dialogue, knowledge co-production, and strategic foresight to catalyze long-term resilience across sectors and territories.
