Food and agriculture, with its links to trade and supply chains and to climate and hazards.

Community

Who takes part

Agricultural scientists, farmers and producer organisations, food processors, nutrition specialists and logistics experts.

03Publisher

Who is responsible.

GCRI publishes Food Nexus and answers for its content. GCRI Canada is the lead contracting organisation. Editorial responsibility for the platform sits with GCRI's research function and its named subject reviewers.

  • Status: established. Food Nexus is an established platform of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI). Information and enquiries are open today.
  • Why a dedicated platform: Food Nexus keeps its existing community and published site, and its existing activity is published as its records are confirmed.
  • Methods, sources and corrections are published at methods and uncertainty and corrections.
04Limits

What Food Nexus does not do.

GCRI is a research, development and policy institution. It is not a regulator, and it does not certify, license or approve; its findings carry their methods and uncertainty.

  • It does not set food safety standards, inspect facilities or approve products, seeds or technologies.
  • It does not distribute food, run emergency operations or issue public warnings.
  • It does not advise on commodity trading or investment. Financial-sector questions belong with The Global Risks Alliance (GRA), for example at Insurance Nexus.
  • Taking part, hosting or sponsorship gives no authority over findings.

Decisions on food policy remain with the competent public authorities. Governance dialogue on land and climate takes place at The Global Risks Forum (GRF), for example at Climate and Nature Governance.
