Welcome to the National Stakeholders Identification Thread for Chad!
This thread identifies and maps key stakeholders across sectors to support climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development efforts in Chad. We aim to engage relevant actors to mobilize climate finance and strengthen partnerships for the Global Risks Forum 2025 and other global frameworks, including the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage.

How You Can Contribute: Identify Stakeholders Across the Quintuple Helix Framework
1- Academia and Research: Universities, think tanks, and research institutions focusing on sustainability, climate policy, DRR, and biodiversity in Chad.
Example: Institutions like University of N’Djamena, think tanks working on environmental issues, and research centers studying water resource management and climate adaptation strategies.

2- Industry and Business: Corporations, startups, and financial institutions involved in renewable energy, green technologies, and climate finance.
Example: Solar energy companies, agricultural businesses implementing sustainable practices, financial institutions supporting green investments, and local cooperatives promoting renewable energy initiatives.

3- Civil Society and NGOs: Non-profits, advocacy groups, and community organizations working on conservation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Example: NGOs like Association de Jeunes pour la Protection de l’Environnement (AJPE), CARE International in Chad, and community groups involved in reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and disaster preparedness.

4- Government and Public Sector: National and regional government agencies involved in climate policy, environmental regulations, and disaster management.
Example: Ministry of Environment, Water, and Fisheries, National Agency for Rural Development, and local government units responsible for natural resource management and climate adaptation initiatives.

5- Natural Environment: Organizations managing ecosystems, protected areas, and promoting biodiversity conservation across Chad.
Example: Zakouma National Park management, Lake Chad Basin Commission, and conservation initiatives focused on protecting vulnerable species and restoring natural habitats.

Description
The National Working Group (NWG) for Chad is part of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI), dedicated to engaging local, national, and regional stakeholders in advancing climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. The Chad NWG operates under the Quintuple Helix framework, fostering collaboration across academia, industry, civil society, government, and environmental organizations to develop innovative solutions for climate challenges. This group provides a platform to coordinate multi-sector collaboration, influence national climate policies, and mobilize resources for a sustainable and resilient future. Together, we aim to strengthen Chad’s role in global climate action and support disaster risk reduction and biodiversity efforts at all levels. Join us to drive innovation, engage stakeholders, and build a sustainable future for Chad and beyond!
