Welcome to the National Stakeholders Identification Thread for Denmark!
This thread identifies and maps key stakeholders across sectors to support climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development efforts in Denmark. We aim to engage relevant actors to mobilize climate finance and strengthen partnerships for the Global Risks Forum 2025 and other global frameworks, including the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage.

How You Can Contribute: Identify Stakeholders Across the Quintuple Helix Framework
1- Academia and Research: Universities, think tanks, and research institutions focusing on sustainability, climate policy, DRR, and biodiversity in Denmark.
Example: Institutions like the University of Copenhagen, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and think tanks such as the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) and the Nordic Council of Ministers.

2- Industry and Business: Corporations, startups, and financial institutions involved in renewable energy, green technologies, and climate finance.
Example: Companies like Ørsted, Vestas, green tech startups, and financial institutions promoting sustainable investments and green bonds.

3- Civil Society and NGOs: Non-profits, advocacy groups, and community organizations working on conservation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Example: NGOs like Danish Society for Nature Conservation (Danmarks Naturfredningsforening), Greenpeace Denmark, and grassroots initiatives focused on biodiversity and climate adaptation.

4- Government and Public Sector: National, regional, and local government agencies involved in climate policy, environmental regulations, and disaster management.
Example: Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Danish Energy Agency, and local municipalities working on urban climate adaptation projects and sustainable energy transitions.

5- Natural Environment: Organizations managing ecosystems, protected areas, and promoting biodiversity conservation across Denmark.
Example: National parks management, Danish Nature Agency, and conservation projects focused on protecting coastal ecosystems and habitats.

Description
The National Working Group (NWG) for Denmark is part of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI), dedicated to engaging local, national, and regional stakeholders in advancing climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. The Denmark NWG operates under the Quintuple Helix framework, fostering collaboration across academia, industry, civil society, government, and environmental organizations to develop innovative solutions for climate challenges. As a member of this group, you will: 1- Identify and map key stakeholders across sectors contributing to Denmark’s climate action efforts, biodiversity restoration, and disaster resilience. 2- Mobilize partnerships and align stakeholders with global frameworks for Loss and Damage under the Global Risks Alliance. 3- Develop engagement strategies to leverage climate finance mechanisms and drive policy innovation for sustainable development in Denmark. 4- Participate in workshops and collaborative events that connect local initiatives with global solutions. This group provides a platform to coordinate multi-sector collaboration, influence national climate policies, and mobilize resources for a sustainable and resilient future. Together, we aim to strengthen Denmark’s role in global climate action and support disaster risk reduction and biodiversity efforts at all levels. Join us to drive innovation, engage stakeholders, and build a sustainable future for Denmark and beyond!
