Welcome to the National Stakeholders Identification Thread for Zambia!
This thread identifies and maps key stakeholders across sectors to support climate action, disaster risk reduction (DRR), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development efforts in Zambia. We aim to engage relevant actors to mobilize climate finance and strengthen partnerships for the Global Risks Forum 2025 and other global frameworks, including the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage.

How You Can Contribute: Identify Stakeholders Across the Quintuple Helix Framework
1- Academia and Research: Universities, think tanks, and research institutions focusing on sustainability, climate policy, DRR, and biodiversity in Zambia.
Example: Institutions like the University of Zambia, Mulungushi University, and research organizations such as the Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI).

2- Industry and Business: Corporations, startups, and financial institutions involved in renewable energy, green technologies, and climate finance.
Example: Renewable energy companies, mining companies adopting sustainable practices, green technology startups, and banks promoting green loans and investment products.

3- Civil Society and NGOs: Non-profits, advocacy groups, and community organizations working on conservation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Example: NGOs like World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Zambia, Greenpop Zambia, and community groups working on forest conservation, water management, and resilience building.

4- Government and Public Sector: National, regional, and local government agencies involved in climate policy, environmental regulations, and disaster management.
Example: Ministry of Green Economy and Environment, Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), and local councils involved in climate adaptation and sustainability projects.

5- Natural Environment: Organizations managing ecosystems, protected areas, and promoting biodiversity conservation across Zambia.
Example: Zambia Wildlife Authority, national parks such as Kafue National Park, and conservation projects focusing on protecting endangered species like elephants and rhinos.
