Speakers will discuss the role of visionary leadership, how to strengthen collaborations to withstand the inevitable shocks of tomorrow and how to build and sustain a new momentum.

As the world navigates an era of profound change, the future of global health and science stands at a critical inflection point. Societies across the globe are increasingly confronted by demographic shifts, the emergence of new disease patterns, and escalating healthcare costs, all of which pose significant threats to sustained progress. Yet, within these challenges lies an unprecedented opportunity to bring global health back on the political agenda.

To meet the moment, we must demonstrate how health and science organizations are not rivals, but allies. Each institution possesses unique capabilities, amplified through collaboration and cohesion, that can effectively meet communities’ needs today and for generations to come.

This September, the United Nations will host the Summit of the Future, a key moment to strengthen global cooperation and multilateralism for the challenges ahead. Running alongside this milestone moment during the High-Level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly, the SDG Lounge at UN Headquarters will be a vibrant space for #GrowingSolutions to accelerate action toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Convened by the United Nations Deputy Secretary General and hosted by the UN Office for Partnerships, from 20 – 26 September, the SDG Lounge will feature unscripted dialogues, deep dives into vital issues and host interactive experiences—all designed to keep the promise of the SDGs today, tomorrow and for future generations to come.
