Agencies responding together each see a different picture.
NXS-NST is defined in system profile NRS-S2 of the Nexus Standards. In a multi-agency incident, the fire service, utilities, health authorities and local government hold separate maps and logs. Incident management practice calls for a common operating picture so that decisions rest on the same facts, with clear ownership of each layer.
- Shared situational layers with source and time.
- Task and resource tracking across agencies.
- A record that supports after-action review.
The standards a design like this is read against.
| Reference | Relevance |
|---|---|
| ISO 22320 | Incident management, including command and coordination |
| ISO 22301 | Business continuity management |
| OGC standards | Interoperable map layers across agencies |
What it exchanges with the other systems.
- Takes observation layers from NXS-EOP (earth observation and digital twins) and warnings support from NXS-EWS (multi-hazard monitoring and warning).
- Hands decision questions to NXS-DSS (decision cases and deliberation).
The ten rooms of NXS-NST.
NXS-NST has the eight rooms every Foundry system shares, set to its own authority, and two specialist rooms, Incidents and FieldOps. Each is described by the work it is designed for; the public register records NXS-NST as declared, not deployed.
