NXS-DSS

NXS-DSS (decision cases and deliberation) supports decisions with evidence: scenarios, options, trade-offs and their uncertainty, prepared so that a competent authority can deliberate and decide.

03The problem it addresses

Options compared on one scenario look better than they are.

NXS-DSS is defined in system profile NRS-S3 of the Nexus Standards. Investment and policy choices about systemic risk are made under deep uncertainty. Decision support has to compare options across many plausible futures, show what each assumes, and leave the value judgements to the people accountable for them.

  • Scenario sets with stated assumptions.
  • Options assessed for robustness, not only expected value.
  • Deliberation records and handoff to the deciding body.

06Rooms

The ten rooms of NXS-DSS.

NXS-DSS has the eight rooms every Foundry system shares, set to its own authority, and two specialist rooms, Scenarios and Decisions. Each is described by the work it is designed for; the public register records NXS-DSS as declared, not deployed.

07Access

Authorised projects only.

Access requires an authorised project with an accountable owner, data terms and a review plan. Enquiries go to the contact form.

08Risk Academy

Where NXS-DSS subjects are taught.

Risk Academy, led by the Nexus Consortium, teaches the subjects practised in NXS-DSS in these disciplines; the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) links to the Academy as a partner and does not provide its courses.
