01In brief

The short answer.

Earth Observation Platform is the Nexus Foundry system for an observation catalogue, spectral analytics and scenario twins built on satellite and in situ data. It serves 10 platforms, among them Water Nexus and Food Nexus, and its stated limit is that observation products keep their evidence labels and licences. Access is through an authorized project with an accountable owner, data terms and a review plan.

02Geography

Water security in Egypt and the Nile Delta.

Rivers, lakes and how far each division sits from mapped surface water, shown for Egypt and the Nile Delta as an example geography for this subject.

04The problem it addresses

Imagery is not evidence until its accuracy is known.

Flood extents, crop condition and land change derived from imagery are used in decisions with real consequences. Each product needs its processing chain, accuracy assessment and temporal reference attached, or it will be over-read.

  • Analysis-ready data processing to CEOS specifications.
  • Accuracy assessment for each classified product.
  • Catalogue entries following STAC.
05Reference practice

  • Feeds GRIx, NorthStar and EWS.
  • Ground truth from OP.
07Access

Authorized projects only.

Access requires an authorized project with an accountable owner, data terms and a review plan. Enquiries go to contact@therisk.global.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

TermDefinition
Remote sensingAcquiring information about an object or area from a distance, typically by satellite or aircraft sensors.
Analysis-ready dataSatellite data processed to a minimum standard so that users can analyse it without further preprocessing.
SpatioTemporal Asset CatalogA specification for describing geospatial data so it can be searched across providers.
