Trust Governance Integrity
Evidence before claims, records before status

Governance and integrity you can examine.

The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) publishes how its governance works before anyone relies on its findings: who decides what, how neutrality and conflicts are managed, how a finding is accepted and corrected, and where to raise a concern. Every route is open to anyone, without membership or payment.

01In brief

The short answer.

Trust and accountability at GCRI is the set of public rules and records that let anyone check its work: what is open today and what is only planned, how results are labelled and reviewed, how conflicts are handled, how personal data is protected, how concerns are raised and how errors are corrected in the open.

02Decision rights

Who decides what, and who is accountable.

The three pillar institutions lead one programme, but each decision has one accountable holder. GCRI prepares evidence; it does not take the decisions that belong to governments, operators or licensed institutions.

Public decisions and executionThe relevant government, operator or licensed institutionNexus prepares evidence and supports lawful continuation
03Neutrality and conflicts

No one can buy a finding.

Support of any kind buys nothing in the findings. These rules apply to every funder, sponsor, member, host and technology provider.

Neutral by design

No support buys a finding, a ranking, an appointment, consent, procurement advantage or the suppression of a limitation.

Conflicts declared

Reviewers and leaders declare their interests. A reviewer with a declared conflict does not sign the acceptance it concerns.

Funding disclosed

Funding and review are disclosed with each publication, and sponsorship has no say in a test result.

04Acceptance and corrections

Findings are accepted on method and corrected in the open.

Each finding is linked to its sources, methods and review, with its uncertainty stated. Qualified reviewers who manage their conflicts accept it on method, not on who funded or hosted the work.

  1. 01

    Evidence labels

Every result carries one: observed, officially reported, institution-reported, estimated, modelled, forecast, scenario, expert judgement or unknown. Missing data is shown as missing, never as zero.

  2. 02

    Review before release

Domain and editorial review precede publication. Release follows review, not publicity deadlines, and a planned report is not shown as released.

  3. 03

    Corrections as versions

Anyone can challenge a public finding. A correction creates a new recorded version with its history, never a silent edit.

09Questions

Questions about governance and integrity.

How do I report an error in a GCRI publication?
Write to integrity@therisk.global with "Scientific correction" in the subject, naming the publication, the passage and the evidence. The responsible editor or source owner reviews it. If accepted, the correction is published as a new recorded version. No membership or payment is needed.
Can a funder or sponsor influence GCRI's findings?
No. Findings are accepted on method by qualified reviewers who manage their conflicts. No support buys a finding, a ranking, an appointment or the suppression of a limitation, and funding is disclosed with each publication.
Do GCRI's statuses extend to GRF, GRA or Nexus programmes?
No. The eight statuses and memberships belong to GCRI only. They do not extend to The Global Risks Forum, The Global Risks Alliance or participating institutions, and they are not endorsements of Nexus programmes by the bodies named.
How is a complaint about a decision handled?
Write to integrity@therisk.global. A complaint is reviewed by someone who was not responsible for the contested decision, and a rejected recommendation receives a reasoned disposition rather than disappearing.
Who is responsible for my personal data?
GCRI Canada is responsible for personal data in the service it provides and is the controller for therisk.global. Enquiries are used to answer the enquiry and keep a record of it. Privacy requests go to its Interim Privacy Officer at privacy@therisk.global, and the privacy notice of therisk.global sets out the details.
Does GCRI respond to emergencies?
No. Nexus is not an emergency service and does not issue warnings. In immediate danger, contact your local emergency services and follow the instructions of your authorities.
