Every programme in Nexus Consortiums carries one explicit state, taken from a record rather than from ambition. The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) publishes the states, what moves a programme from one to the next, the evidence labels that qualify each finding and the route for correcting a state that is wrong. Today, all six regions are in formation and no programme is recorded as an active programme. Return to How Nexus Consortium works.

Programme status is the single explicit state every Nexus Consortiums programme carries, taken from a record rather than ambition, together with the evidence labels that qualify each finding and a route for correcting a wrong state. All six regions are in formation today, and no programme is recorded as active.
Where people and networks concentrate, the exposure through which shocks travel between systems, shown for Western Europe as an example geography for this subject.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Exploration | Questions, interest and research coverage, with no formation work under way. |
| In formation | A formation dossier is being prepared: ownership model, host options, first questions, safeguards, resources and exit conditions. |
| Constituted | Accountable structures and instruments are in place on record. |
| Active programme | Scoped work is under way under the constituted structures. |
| Paused | Work is suspended, with the reason recorded. |
| Closed | The programme has ended, with its closeout recorded. |
| Historical record | Kept for reference; no current activity. |
A research coverage profile is not a constituted consortium or a local office.
A planned hub is not an operational site, an office or an exclusive territory.
A report candidate is not a released publication, and a planned report shows no cover.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Programme status | The recorded state of a programme on Nexus pages: exploring, forming, constituted, active, paused or archived. A plan is never presented as an activity. |
| Evidence label | A tag on an assertion naming the kind of evidence behind it, such as observed, officially reported or modelled. |
| Status vocabulary | The controlled list of status terms a registry accepts, each with a written definition. |
| Correction | A published notice that amends an error in a work whose main findings stand. |
Findings carry one of nine evidence labels: observed, officially reported, institution-reported, estimated, modelled, forecast, scenario, expert judgement or unknown. If a state or label shown anywhere is wrong, write to integrity@therisk.global. An accepted correction creates a new recorded version. The Global Risks Forum (GRF) keeps its own register on Claims and programme state, and GCRI's wider register is on Claims and readiness register.
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
