This page records material changes to publications of The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI): corrections, updates, superseded versions and retractions. Each entry names the publication, what changed, why, when and the version that now applies. Earlier versions remain accessible so that anyone who cited them can see the difference. Anyone can challenge a published finding, and this page sets out the route. Entries appear only when a change has been made; none is shown in advance. It is part of publications.
Corrections and updates is GCRI's record of material changes to its publications: corrections, updates, superseded versions and retractions, each naming the publication, what changed, why, when and which version now applies. Earlier versions stay accessible so anyone who cited them can see the difference, and anyone can challenge a published finding.
Fig.How a finding is reviewed before it is published. Design, not a record.
Where people and networks concentrate, the exposure through which shocks travel between systems, shown for Türkiye as an example geography for this subject.
Minor edits that do not change meaning, such as fixing a typing error, are noted in the version history. Material changes appear here.
| Change | When it is used | What the record shows |
|---|---|---|
| Correction | An error affects a finding, figure or statement | The passage, the error, the correction and its effect |
| Update | New data or methods change results | What was updated and how results moved |
| Supersession | A new edition replaces an earlier one | Links between versions and which applies |
| Retraction | A result cannot be relied on | The reason, with the record kept visible |
Challenges are welcome from anyone, including authors, source owners, reviewers, journalists and members of the public.
Send the publication, the passage and your evidence to integrity@therisk.global. No membership or payment is needed.
You receive a reference and the name of the next step.
The responsible editor or source owner reviews the evidence, with conflicts managed.
An accepted challenge leads to a recorded change here. A rejected one receives a reasoned disposition.
Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Correction | A published notice that amends an error in a work whose main findings stand. |
| Retraction | The formal withdrawal of a published work whose findings are unreliable, with a notice that stays visible. |
| Version of record | The fixed version of a work that a publisher formally declares published; later changes appear as dated corrections or new versions, never as silent edits, in the sense NISO's journal article versions recommendation uses. |
| Correction notice | A published statement that amends part of a record while the rest stands, linked to the original. |
The current service level is R0: information and enquiries. An enquiry receives a reference and names the next step; applications, payments, compute allocations and registrations open only when their team, terms and review capacity exist.
