Institutional participation

The National Nexus Consortium (NNC) is the institutional pillar of a National Nexus programme. Its members are institutions, which bring authorized representatives, a contribution plan and capability to the national programme through constituency councils. The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) supports the national programmes as Consortium Secretariat. This page sets out who can take part, the steps to membership and the rules that keep institutional participation from deciding technical conclusions or public authority. Return to National Nexus.

What institutional membership does not do.

  • Institutional membership does not create a council seat.
  • No contribution decides a technical conclusion, a public authority or a procurement treatment.
  • Official cooperation by public bodies never depends on buying a membership tier.
  • Precompetitive work never shares competitors' confidential information.
  • A claimed identity is not representative authority until it is checked.

Terms used on this page.

Each term as this page uses it. Where a standard-setting body defines the term, the wording follows that body.

The participation route at The Global Risks Forum (GRF) is on Institutional participation, and financial institutions can also see The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) on Institutional members. The leadership pillar is described on Leadership pathway.

08Questions

Questions and answers.

Who is the member, the institution or its representative?
The institution is the member. Its authorized representatives act for it within the terms.
Does membership cost money?
No fee amounts are published until one schedule is bound with its issuer, currency, effective date and scope. Public bodies never need to buy a tier to cooperate.
Can a company and a ministry sit in the same council?
No. Each institution takes part through the constituency council that fits it, such as State and Public Authorities or Industry and Operators. The Financial Institutions and Regulators pathway cuts across them.
Can a member institution influence a report?
No. Findings are accepted on method by conflict-managed reviewers, and no contribution decides a technical conclusion.
