Institutional annual review

The institutional annual review is how The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) accounts each year for its governance, its delivery, its objectives and the lessons it has learned. It covers both organizations, GCRI Canada and GCRI US, and names which one acted where they acted alone. This page describes what each review contains and the rules it follows. No annual review has been released yet, so this page shows no figures, outcomes or rankings. When a review is approved and released, it is published here with its date and version history. 01In brief

The short answer.

The GCRI institutional annual review is the yearly account of its governance, delivery, objectives and lessons, covering GCRI Canada and GCRI US and naming which one acted where it acted alone. The page describes what each review contains and the rules it follows; no review has been released yet, and it is separate from the Nexus Reports flagship.

02Canvas

Mandate to authority.

How The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation is governedA mandate sets the platform's scope; an editor and reviewers govern what it publishes; programmes and the community supply the work; the integrity route handles corrections; authority over decisions stays outside. Design of the governance, not a record.

04Contents

What every review covers.

  1. 01

    Governance

Changes to boards, instruments, delegated decisions and accountable roles, consistent with Board and governance.

  2. 02

    Delivery evidence

Work actually delivered in the year, each item linked to its record and labelled by evidence class. Planned work stays separate from delivered work.

  3. 03

    Objectives

Progress against the stated objectives of Strategy 2026–2030, including objectives missed or withdrawn, with reasons.

  4. 04

    Lessons

What did not work, what was corrected and what changes in the next cycle. Adverse findings are kept, not edited out.

  5. 05

    Material changes

Changes to mandate, legal structure, statuses, relationships or service levels, each with its date and record.

05Rules

Records before claims.

  • A figure appears only with its source, date and method; a count without a record is left out.
  • A partnership or relationship is reported only with a current record of it.
  • Statuses and memberships are reported in their exact recorded wording, and belong to GCRI only.
  • Funding sources and any conflicts relevant to the year are disclosed.
  • A correction to a released review creates a new recorded version, never a silent edit.
06Relationship

Distinct from the programme's reports.

The annual review accounts for the institution. It is not the annual flagship of Nexus Reports, which reports on country systems and the programme's findings. The other pillar institutions publish their own reviews, for example the annual institutional review of The Global Risks Forum (GRF) and the review of The Global Risks Alliance (GRA).
